One of the better movies that I’ve been recommended by Youtube Shorts. I’ve never experienced being black or god forbid Italian nor do I even live in America so much of this movie relates very little to me and therefore makes it quite hard to get invested in it in relation to me personally though the fantastic acting goes a long way to helping bridge that gap. I love the chemistry between Tony and Shirley which is good because they’re in just about every scene and the way they grow into actual friends is really heartwarming. The scene where Shirley breaks down is so fucking good too, Mahershala Ali absolutely acts his heart out in it and it comes off quite naturally despite the dramatisation of the entire thing. Watching this lowkey might be what it takes for me to finally watch True Detective just to see more of him. One last thing, I did find it quite strange that Shirley was lowkey sexting Tony’s wife but that was neither here nor there.
