Bully is a good album to me at least but certainly not Kanye level. Up until Donda 2 I’d considered Kanye to be the greatest living artist unironically which is why watching him destroy everything was so disappointing. I’d really hoped Bully would be a comeback of sorts to show that he’s still got it but instead it was just more proof that he doesn’t still got it and is past his prime. Since the V1 release Bully has come a long way and has lots of pretty fun catchy songs, PUNCH DRUNK and FATHER specifically were highlights for me and yet neither felt like Kanye was in uncharted territory. This entire album felt like Kanye trying to make us remember who he is and why everyone fell in love with his music and yet also seemed to lack something pretty essential and fell flat for me. It didn’t help that it had an awful rollout but that’s just classic Kanye at this point. My goat is washed.
